My Krabi Travel Guide
Krabi is the most photogenic landscape in Thailand. The limestone karsts at Railay are the postcard, but the real Krabi is the quieter mainland coast (Tubkaek, Klong Muang) where the family resorts and the smaller boutiques live. We’ve been coming since 2016 and would happily come back twice a year.
The short version: combine two nights at Railay (Rayavadee) with three or four on the mainland (the Tubkaak, Phulay Bay, or Centara Grand for families). Book four to six nights minimum. Boat trip to Hong Island or Phang Nga Bay is the must-do day.

Frequently asked questions
Railay, Ao Nang, or Tubkaek?
Railay for the iconic limestone scenery (boat-only access, commit to it). Ao Nang for easy logistics and family resorts. Tubkaek for the quiet upscale strip with the prettiest mainland swimming beach. My usual recipe is two nights Railay plus three to four Tubkaek.
When to go?
November to April is the dry season. May to October is rainy on the Andaman side but the prices drop 30-50% and the storms usually pass in an hour.
Phuket or Krabi?
Krabi for scenery and adventure. Phuket for variety and the top-end luxury. First-timers usually do well in Phuket; repeat visitors graduate to Krabi.
